Knitting Night

Knitting Night was so successful that we are changing the location to Room 108 on the library’s first floor.  It will hold more people, needles and yarn. Knitting Night will be Tuesday, March 9  at 7 p.m. All knitters, from beginners to advanced, are welcome. We will have a drawing that evening for a knitting book.

Linn Area Reads has selected Population: 485 by author and humorist Michael Perry for the 2010 edition of the program. Population: 485 is subtitled Meeting Your Neighbors One Siren at a Time.The book features Perry’s adventures as a member of the volunteer fire and rescue department in New Auburn, Wis. It is filled with colorful characters, real emergencies, and the quirkiness of a small Midwestern town.

Spring Break Activities at Cole Library

**Magic Tricks to Amaze @ the Library March 16, 10 a.m. Room 108, First Floor, Come and Learn a magic trick or two to amaze your friends and family. If you know a trick that you would like to share come and perform it.  The only rule is if you share it you have to show us how you did it.

**Movie Day @ the Library March 17, 10 a.m. Room 108, First Floor, Library Join us for UP Popcorn and a drink will be provided. Call 895-4271 to reserve your seat.

**PJ Story Time @ the Library March 18, 9:30 a.m. Children’s Room and Room 108, First Floor,  Stay in your pajamas and bring a favorite stuffed toy to  p.j. story time. We will share stories, songs, finger plays and a craft.

Community of Readers
Community of Readers will meet Tuesday, March 23 at 7:30 in the Gaarde/Hileman home.  We will discuss Population: 485 by Michael Perry. Please bring copies of your poem that evening to disperse for discussion in April. 

Teen Book Discussion Group
The Off-Track Teen book discussion group will meet March 23 at 7 p.m. in Room 108 to discuss Storm Thief  by Chris Wooding.

Book Sale Cart

A book sale cart is located on the first floor near the circulation desk. The cart is available during library hours. The paperback exchange books are also located on this cart and can be purchased or exchanged.

If you would like your library newsletter sent to you via e-mail please e-mail Cathy Boggs at librarynews@cornellcollege.edu. This will help the library cut printing and mailing costs.

Hours are posted on the library's Web site, http://cornellcollege.edu/library/, and posted by the library door.

All events are free and open to the public. If you need more information, please contact Cathy Boggs at 895-4262.

Cole Library participates in Open Access, which allows you to check out materials at any Iowa public library.
