Join local author Mike Conklin for a reading, Q&A, and signing of his new book He Bet the Farm. Conklin will follow his book talk with a segment on becoming a writer.
Mike Conklin has written since his Lisbon high school days, when his media career began on the then-Mt. Vernon-Lisbon Hawkeye Record. He graduated from Cornell College, worked at KCRG, and then spent 36 years at The Chicago Tribune. Conklin eventually left The Tribune to accept an offer to teach full-time at DePaul University. While at DePaul, he co-founded the school’s journalism department and served as adviser to its student newspaper.
