Mission
In service to the Mount Vernon Community, it is the mission of the Cole Library to foster and support citizens’ exploration of ideas, use of information, and opportunities for reading, viewing, and listening.
In pursuit of this mission, we:
- enrich the lives of the community through access to educational and recreational resources, programs, and services;
- create a welcoming, accessible, and equitable environment;
- extend to the community library services provided by expert, highly qualified librarians;
- collaborate with local schools and community organizations; and
- manage operations to support and adapt to the changing needs of our community and patrons.
